Don't Wait for Inspiration

Matisse was right when he said that inspiration comes while one is working.

I have been avoiding my workroom for the longest time, feeling guilty about an unfinished project that was held up by a design problem. ( I'd show you a picture if it wasn't a gift for someone who might someday read my old posts)

But that is neither here nor there.    The really good news is that while my sisters were here for the weekend helping me sew squares for a charity project, something totally unrelated to my other project, I felt like finding the solution!

So as soon as they left, I got to work.  I stacked the charity squares and all the uncut fabric, put it away, and gathered the materials for Stalled Project #1, and measured, and cut, and sewed, and photographed.   And by golly, I think I can buy a batt and finish that puppy this next week.

The charity project won't suffer because the deadline for my part of it is the middle of August.  No sweat. While stalled, I kept telling myself, "You'll be so happy when it's done..."  And, for once, I was really right.  I am already happy knowing that I WILL be done soon.

As we love to say, Woo-Hoo!
